Stained Glass Artist Follows Old-Style Tradition

Stained glass artist Kip Trienens comes to the craft with a combination of family talent and art studies. His great grandfather, a stained glass artist in Montreal, helped design windows for Chicago cathedrals in the 1800s. Following that tradition, Kip has an expertise in design and an art background that includes sculpture, painting, jewelry and pottery.

For three decades, his Westport Trading Company has offered hand-crafted glass art that has earned Kip the reputation of a quality craftsman in the old-style tradition. In a world of mass produced stained glass, Kip still embraces the time-honored Arts and Crafts tradition. Each of his custom stained glass windows is created by hand with an original design and carefully chosen glass.
